This is my first comic book cover illustration, the first of many I'm doing for Malaka Studios, and I have to admit I'm very proud of this one. The lightning was a bit tricky, but I think I managed to pull through. I wanted to keep the figures as the focus, so I purposely kept the background loose. Thanks for looking :)

The texture looks amazing...
Robber Baron Says:
It seems like there's a lack of motion and energy in this image. The figures are well done, the coloring is great, the texture is fine - but the people look bored, disinterested and misplaced. I think it's a combination between their poses and the boy's facial expression.

I just had an awesome Idea... Know the song "Hey, Teacher? LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE"?
I rofl'd...!
Roger No Name Says:
Awesome!
I love the texture and I agree with Robber Baron on the disinterested look going on.

The zombies don't seem to care much....

I agree with Robber Baron. The overall coloring and lighting-- phenomenal.
But the energy in this is as dead as the zombies.
I'd love to see more from you, though. Consider yourself watched.
BLACKSAGA Says:
I'm sure you would get a better expression from those children buy painting it naturally, computerised technology sometimes looks stiff, It shows here. I feel if you could use inks it would have more of a movement in the howl image.

Like it has been said, the zombie looks stiff and misplaced - and I think I might just know why!
It's too close to the cildren. They're half of zombie's size, but the zombie is still not reaching down at them - which makes it look like it doesn't care about the children at all.

*running down the pipe with my shovel, decapitation zombies as I go* DON'T WORRY KIDS!!!
