style practice

Those who know me probably know already that I'm nutorious for changing art styles every year or 2. I'm bored with this one I have, I don't hate it but it isn't as I want it to be.

Truth is when I first saw Trinity Blood I fell in love with the style. It looked how I wanted mine to look, atleast as far as face shapes go and how long and slender Abel was (which is how Vlad is SUPPOSED to look)

I got 3 TB manga the other day while out 8D pretty art is my weakness, what can I say? I've been studying the shit out of it. I used reference for some of them then drew others freehand. The one with guidelines was me seeing if that's how she got that face proportion. It came out nice, however...

I found that if you start with the nose, eyes, mouth and THEN draw the face AROUND IT you actually get better results! o_O The one of Vlad and Wilda on the far left, the 2 Wildas on the bottom were all with this eyes-nose first technique. The larger one of Vlad on the right and unfinished one above him, and the other Wilda were drawn while looking at reference.

8D So anyway... this is why I've been so dead lately... I'm in a... changing period. Next I need to make myself draw more slender longer bodies and stop being so fucking stuck on realistic proportions! D<

By the way, this Wilda is her youngest form. This is when she was still pretty much a little kid - before her EXTREME HAIR! >8D
