STDW Chapter 16 “Power Struggle in Las Dias, Part I”
In the expansive desert of Hueco Mundo, Rian stands looking towards Las Dias, almost completely invisible against the eternally black sky of Hueco Mundo. He looks around, sensing the presence of another, before jumping back to avoid the heel of whoever his enemy is. They look up at him with their golden eyes, their hair is silver and is reminiscent of a lion’s mane. It is clear that he is an Arrancar, his mask remains are made up of what looks like a sternum, from both of it‘s sides, five ribs protrude, the three lower ribs on each side extend around him, going under his arm and connecting together on his lower back, while the remaining do the same, but go over his shoulders, connecting on the upper back, he also wears the same hakama and boots that Rian does as well as white gloves with silver plates covering the back of his hands. On his back is a sheathed longsword. He runs at Rian, who attempts a punch to his face, but the attacker crouches as he approaches to avoid, before backhanding Rian in the face, who stumbles back as his foe goes for a second attack with a kick to his side. Rian manages to catch his leg before it hits, then twisting to force the attacker to the ground, before having to let go and jump back to avoid a sudden Bala.
“Your getting better at hand to hand combat, Rian.” Says the attacker, as they jump back to their feet.
“And you seem to be used to having a human body again even in such a short time, Rencoroso.” Rian replies, after which he draws his Zanpaktuo, a small golden ornately decorated staff, Rencoroso looked at it in a look of combined interest and confusion, making Rian think he wanted to say ‘what use is that in battle?’, a question that would soon get an answer. Just below the top of the staff, which ended in two blades - which were reminiscent of a scorpion’s chelicerae - is a small indention, holding the staff vertically, his brought his thumb over the indentation, which set off a trigger, causing the bottom of the staff to open and extend towards the ground, while the two blades turned away, both at forty five degree angles and a silver spike to shoot out from the opening, giving the whole new look a trident-like feel to it. Rencoroso was still marvelling the sudden change as Rian jumped up and brought it down with force on his head, but Rencoroso reacted just in time to sidestep the attack, then used Sonido to avoid the following sweep kick. For a former adjuchas that had a lion like head, your sure skilled at avoiding attacks.” He says, Rencoroso chuckled slightly at it. “How about we spar with our Zanpaktuo?” Asked Rian. Rencoroso chuckled slightly at the suggestion. His chuckling had been a habit of his ever since he became an Arrancar, chuckling ever so slightly when he found something interesting, funny, or stupid. He kept chuckling as he gripped the hilt of the long sword hanging on his back.
“A good suggestion, and I’ll take it.” He said, before suddenly rushing forward while drawing the long sword. The long sword like any normal long sword had a handle long enough for two hands to be placed on it, and a blade that was large and heavy, but what defined this one from others was the odd guard, which seemed like three teeth bent back covering part of the handle, forming a triangle with their points. Rian sidestepped the overhead slash, then jumped to avoid a follow up side slash, landing on the blade. He then attempted to take a quick stab at Rencoroso’s shoulder, but his foe swung the blade with enough force to forcibly dislodge Rian who came to a quick stop on the sand. They then both rushed forward, their weapons clashing, their reiatsu flaring brightly.
The glow of the reiatsu brightened a formerly dark room in Las Dias. The room had previously been mostly pitch black, aside from some oddly glowing spider webs. It was probably intended for the room to be almost completely without light, as there was only one thin window letting the light of the moon of Hueco Mundo in. Within the room, the light breathing of someone sleeping was the only sound, their head having been just beyond the range of the moon’s light, got a full blast of the reiatsus light, which slowly brought them to life. She was clearly an Arrancar - if being in Las Dias and sleeping in a web like it was a silk bed hadn’t made that obvious - as her left hand which she had left lying on her face had three fingers covered by white bone, leaving only her thumb and and little finger uncovered, while covering a small part of the back of her hand, as well as a equal amount of her palm. For the most part, her face was still covered by her dark violet hair, but her eyes slowly opened to reveal the dark green iris behind. She sat up - upside down - yawned and streched, before turning her attention the window, before jumping up to the window then going through it, she could see her two comrades sparring off in the distance.” Huh, that doesn’t look like the Cuarta Espada, but his power sure seems up there.” She says, before jumping from where she was, landing on the sand of the wide desert in a matter of seconds, before running off to see what was going on and who they were.
