Sooo here's the black and white tonal study thing. It's not the best cause I kinda suck at tonal studies heh. Ah well maybe my teacher will have some suggestions...
I'd thought the fish-to-tree transition looked awkward in the sketch, but it looks good now. Awesome.
...The tones seem somewhat top-heavy. Maybe a few dark currents in the waves and some lighter grain up in the tree?
