I'm beyond words with this picture, it is gorgeous, I love the detail and coloring.
gorgeous profile, stunning musculature and anatomy. the lighting is just right, and the detail in the exposed bone is highly accurate, and still quite painterly. were these the demensions you worked it at, or has this been resized?
The design of the head is intriguing, and I like the red backlighting and the subtle gradation into the gore. It's appropriate, and not overdone.
