Oh man this was hard work. BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT.
This cake was my anniversary gift to Ste. Since we both met over TF2, it seemed appropriate.
Took me about two and a half days to finish. The cake's chocolate, and the people, gibs, crates, train tracks, point and med pack are all crafted out of fondant.
By far the hardest part about this cake was custom colouring the fondant, because the more colour you put into fondant, the stickier it gets, making it pretty hard to work with. D:
Nonetheless, I am really pleased with how this turned out. I know the proportions are a bit off, and the walls are almost non-existent, but I think it really captures the spirit of TF2.
And it was delicious, so that's always a good thing. c:
p.s. Ste actually helped out near the end of things, making the gibs for me while I splattered red icing about for the bloody effects.

FFFFFFF NOW I GET IT.
I've only worked with fondant once, and people are really hard. I feel your pain. This is beautiful though, I can't tell if I want to play tf2 more, or eat some cake ;o;
