I'm really happy with how this turned out. I coloured it entirely different than I normally would.
I started with a base colour that was significantly darker than the skin's base colour -- such as, for Gosha, it's the colour on his face that is the lighter shade. I also painted that "shade" right on top of the backdrop colour, which was originally gold. So, the gold would show through a little bit, giving the whole painting a light tint.
I'll try and film it the next time I paint that way :)
