An early demo of my current main project, Jetpack Paladin, which will have a total of 5 zones when it is completed. It's platformer focussed not combat focussed, thus the combat system is simple. It is meant as a largely retro experience, so the graphics and sounds are very oldschool. The music was made by Calamaistr of Newgrounds specifically for this game, and you can check out the full soundtrack on youtube.
In this demo you can see the entire first zone including the end of zone boss, King Mankar, the frog of the bog.
Please feedback with what you think of the game so far, if there are any major issues as you see them, any small niggles, any serious or minor bugs. Comments on what you like are just as useful as comments on what's wrong by the way.
Mostly I need to know about the game's difficulty levels. I've had trouble getting that right in the past and it is quite important. Some of you suck, some of you rock. Worry not if you rock, there will be a one hit kills setting in the final game.
The flash player will default to low quality, DO NOT change this. Doing so will only cause the game to lag unpleasently and look no better, I garuntee.
Known Issues:
-Occasionally the left or right movement will stutter. I am going to look into this, but for now if you release the movement key when this happens and then hold it down again it stops stuttering.
-Jetpack sound continues when a message box apears. Will try to fix this.
-Level 0106 music is too loud I think. I may need to change the actual Mp3 to fix this, so it hasn't yet been adressed.
-Slowdown on some levels is quite noticable. I will try to optimize the levels when they are final.

I like this a lot, its sounds is the sort of classic-ness kind of game i expect to hear with the graphics on this. the controls are smooth, and its quite fun.
Wonderful job, only thing i can say, is maybe make a button to toggle music or something.

The collision check is horrible, the music sounds like something a 3 year-old could make, and the game is just very generic and bad.

well what i think of it as a game...Hmm...well i'm not sure what happened but there was a part where a black knight i think and i attacked each other at the same time and insted of red (blood) i saw yellow i'm not sure but i would think thats them crossing swords am i correct? if so i would like to see more of that for sure
the only thing that annoys me is the water >8C that cursed water has it in for me, a can agree about the whole fall into water die thing but to send the player all the way to the start of the chapter is a bit harsh when they are pretty much near the end. I hope you will put in checkpoints might make the game too easy but then again we don't want people to play this game and throw thier pc's/laptops/super computers out the window in frustration. (LEVEL 3) Is what i got up to, i stopped there to write this so as far as level 3 there's nothing wrong with it apart form the every now and then lag
but hay it doesn't interfear with the game so overall i give you're demo a 8/10 nice job! keep it up, however there was one thing bugging me, i can't seem to get used to using the up arrow key when using the jetpack, this is just me but i would think making the jetpack go up while you move left or right would be good...But if you don't agree please don't change it for just one person keep it up. Oh and BTW instant fave, knights rule! (and just noticed that when i got 7 fule i went up high to avoid a certin enime which failed and when i reached the sky barrier it came up with a message saying "my quest doesn't lead that way" or something to that ring anyway i think you should have a sky barrier that doesn't allow players to go any higher so they don't get that interfearing message sorry about that
