If only I would have known

In the past, we were great friends,
hardly knew where your love starts and mine ends.

If only I would have known,
my love I gladly would have shown.

You think I'd get hurt if I loved you,
I know for a fact this isn't true.

You never could cause me pain,
because my love would quickly rise again.

If you ever were unkind,
in my heart, love would still be all I'd find.

The day say I love you and it's a lie,
will never come, even after the day I die.
