I'm no writer, but thats not the point here.
"Nuclear warheads released their destructive powers on these lands. Millions died by the hands of this devil, and even after the dust had settled, disease dominated the surface of this once beautiful blue planet. The ones most affected by this plague was those with the knowledge and maturity of the previous world. Some innocent perished along with them, and so the children of a new dawn bring forth a new future. But they will sprout in a defiled soil of fear and anger."
"Out of slavery they had grabbed him, their fierce hearts may be built of gold, but they are quite the cunning group of people to accomplish something like that Fret noted, as he looked over the sand filled field covered with colorful patched up tents. He had yet to ask them how they managed to free him, but he knew he'll had to wait for that answer.
The sick man had given him the marks of freedom when their safety had been assured. Though he feared the touch of his hands when he first lied his eyes on him, seeing the marks of death on his skin. The sick man smiled and told him there was nothing to fear as long as their life liquid did not mix. Fret didn't feel assured enough though, until one female jumped on the man and forcefully placed her lips over his, and to make the situation more absurd, a male who's skin looked like a reptiles took his turn to persuade Fret, that the sick man did not also have the touch of death, by moving his tongue up the mans arm over the death marks. This is how they are free and wild.
After a while they had given him the ruler's chair, it frightened him a bit that they trusted him enough to give him that position, yet they still kept him out of certain matters. He was one of them but not like them, he knew that."
"Fret stared towards the girl with the red hair, his eyes wide. He had his back turned for only a few seconds and as he had turned this girl had appeared out of what seemed to be nowhere.
The girl only stared back with a blank expression on her defined face. The girl's foot moved slightly to signify her moving closer, but the only thing that happened was a small movement on her face revealing a gentle smile. Fret felt like shouting for aid, there could only be one reason anyone would sneak up on anyone in this world, and thats for attacking. But he could only see her, could there be more hiding? Approaching from other angles?
Her hand moved to her pocket, and Fret tried to shout but all that he managed to utter was "Gah."
His eyes widened even more when he saw what she had reached for. The old red and golden helm shaped compass he had lost to the slavers. Was she one of them? Is she here to take him back? Kill him?
"I was asking some people back there if there was any work here, and they told me to ask the small fellah named Fret, I don't know many named Fret so i figure it's a nice coincidence eh?" She said in a calm voice, while pointing at an inscription on the back of the compass.
Fret took a step back and placed a hand on his chest as he let out the air he had been holding in. Was that it?"
"Orange sat by one of the storage wagons warming up a cup of milk by the fire. Fret was sitting next to him seeming uneasy. He smiled with himself, figuring he'd wait for a little while, and Fret would let out what was troubling him. And it didn't take too long. "I don't trust her, I just don't trust her. How many people know these medical hockus pokus things hmm? And the way she behaves! One moment she talks allot, the other she is all silent and distant..."
Orange took a sip from the milk and noticed it needed a little bit more honey. "When she talks allot she is uncomfortable, scared even, when she is silent and distant she is calm, remembering past happenings. When she is smiling silently for her self she is... Herself..."
Fret frowned "How you figure?". He didn't say anything, he only pointed towards the bottle of honey next to Fret. Fret reached out and gave it to him, impatiently.
"You know, she walked in on me jacking off yesterday."
He took another sip from the milk as he looked at Fret with raised eyebrows. Fret's face was twitched into something almost unrecognizable. "Perfect" he said to himself as he removed the spoon from the cup.
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING?" Fret shouted seeming more upset then angry. "Nothing really." Orange replied."
"Orange slipped down behind red who was watching the camp from a hillside. He knew that he had taken a seat too close to her, close enough so his body was touching hers, and he knew it would make her uncomfortable. She didn't say anything she only stiffened when she felt him behind her.
Her muscles quickly flexed but relaxed as quickly, when he placed a hand on her arm. Still not uttering a word, he felt confident enough to lean his head onto her neck, and fill himself with her scent. His arm slipped under hers relaxing his hand around her neck, the grip tightened slightly as he leaned his head to kiss her under her ear. He felt her body stiffen more, and his fingers could feel the blood pumping through her body faster and faster. He enjoyed this torture a little bit more then he should have, but the purpose of this wasn't what she was imagining right now. "What are you doing?" her face was turned so she could look him in the eye. "What do you think i am doing?" While his gaze was relaxing on her lips. He moved his hand from the neck and up to her chin. Observing the reaction on her face he knew that she saw what was coming next. Only a few mm away from each other she released her lips and the word "I.." managed to escape them, but a little too late as his lips enclosed around hers. Orange expected her to push away as she did, though he was afraid she would get up and walk away, but she didn't. She only turned around and focused her attention towards the blooming circus lights.
He waited for her to find the courage to say something before he moved around to face her. "I'm not-" Her sentence trailed off when he placed the back of his hand over her cheek affectionatly removing the wet streak that ran from her eye.
"I won't lie and say I'm not doing this because i just want satisfy myself. Because thats what it is about, and you should try it sometime. Get out of this shell you're hiding in and satisfy your own desires. Whenever you do, you know where to find me." He gave her a soft kiss and let his finger slip away from under her chin as he rose up and walked back to the circus.
Orange stopped some feet's away from Fret who was standing in front of his tent with arms crossed. "That girl is nowhere to be found, and then i find that you have walked off as well! I don't have the time to run around looking for all of you all the time. Where have you been Orange? Eh? You know where that devil girl has gone too hmm?"
Orange tilted his head slightly and scratched his chin before he started to walk away. "You know you can tame a wild horse by being gentle as well."
Fret's hand which he had been shaking at Orange stopped, as well did his breathing. His face started to grow purple, but instead of letting out his frustration over Orange's continuous random and absurd ramblings. He released the air in his lounges and threw up his arms in defeat."
To explain the last part.
The horse is Red of course, and what happened between Orange and red isn't really about sex as much as it is about Orange trying to make Red relax, and feel more comfortable around them. "Taming" her.
Orange knows that she has trust issues and feels uncomfortable with getting close with anyone physically and mentally. (How does he know that? He's very observant)
So the biggest obstacle would be sex of course. And it's not like he would mind it if she were to try to come over that obstacle with him.. *cough* hehe....
Fret can appear grumpy often, but he means well. Probably the only responsible character in the circus. The people in the circus may mock him because of it, but they still love him for it.
He was captured by slavers, and used him for their own entertainment.
Orange can appear laid back and odd sometimes, other times he's serious and cunning (Usually when he's dealing with outsiders).
He's got a keen sense to reading people, and has a high respect for those who manage to keep a good heart in this world. He's the only one in the circus old enough to remember the time before the nuclear war.
Red is pretty much a loner, keeps up barriers of confidence or similar to keep people at a distance, even though she might look tough on the outside it doesn't take too much to notice she is quite vulnerable. The people of the circus are all curious about her past, as she has knowledge of medicine. But Orange persuaded them to wait until she is ready to tell her tale.
