This was taken about four years ago before my sister's lung transplant. She is the one in purple on the far left, I am on the right in indigo. The girl in the middle is another cystic fibrosis patient. This prom was a charity event held by Cooks Children Hospital for the patients who could not make it to their own proms. The beautiful dresses were donated free of charge, the former Miss Americas and Miss Texas women did the girl's hair and makeup, and the whole event was just magical. There was a professional photographer who took photos free of charge for the patients and this was my favorite.
We all look so happy dressed in our best and it is a night I will never forget. Krystal had so much fun and she was absolutly radiant. I really miss my beautiful, happy sister so much some times. She is an entirely different person since her transplant and at times I feel I will never see the old her again. Some days though, I catch a glimpse of the beautiful girl she was in her smile and I know that my baby sister is still inside of her and it makes my heart swell with love and pride for how hard she has fought for all of these years.

Wow, I almost cried. I can only imagine looking back on such happiness and only seeing it every now and again. But you both have done so well for as long as you have. All three of you look gorgeous. =)
