"But why, Mr. Tanbourne?" asked Cynthia.
"Because dear girl, you see too much and leave everyone you love behind." The man's sad eyes quivered.
Cynthia put her hands on her hips and gave her dress a sharp twirl, "I don't know sir... I often fancy being able to see the distant future."
"It is what you make of it. Be a part of it, don't sit back and watch it go by like I do." and with that, Mr. Tanbourne lied down in his bed and promptly died.
