He knew it would not last long, this moment. It was as fleeting as the first winter's snow. Words could not form, caught frozen in his throat ensnared by a sudden moment of doubt. Was this reality? Was that really her, the specter which always seemed to just escape his grasp, within his arms?

Whew, this was a lot of coloring, I spent about 6 hours total on this piece. 2 devoted to inking, 2 more to base color, and the last two to detailing. I am very happy with it though, especially his skin. I am so afraid to try and add a background, but it really needs one. I'm thinking her name is Shelinda and his... Wurgoth? I'm not that great with high fantasy names.

Created on vellum Bristol, 9" x 12" in size and filling up as much of the sheet as shown in the scan. Inked in micron pen and then colored in gray scale marker first to establish values. Next came base color, then details like the leather texture added in using the colorless blender and colored pencil. Skin detail was created using marker and colored pencil dots with colored pencil high lights. The design on her gown was created with colored pencils over the marker base. The blending was all done with using the markers together, no colorless blender because it bleaches out the color when used. All in all, a lot of hard work that really paid off.

Thank you so much for the feature! I'm ecstatic!

It is a stunning work of traditional mediums, and the subject is perhaps what grabs my attention the most. Instead of the typical couple were each partner is beautiful and graceful, we have an unusual pairing of elf and orc. His strong, powerful build counters her delicate, waif-like form and the overall tenderness expressed in this unlikely pair brings a smile to my face."

has an solid understanding of multiple mediums, forming a gallery that is as impressive as it is varied. Be sure to browse her other pieces for more outstanding work.

the clothes look amazing.

Starspell Says:

Looks awesome! You're very talented with markers and I can't believe the detail you managed on the skirt. I hope you can manage a background - maybe you could try doing and digital one or printing the artwork off so you don't lose the original.

When I first saw this, I thought it was the Hulk and princess Zelda.

I like the "freckle" effect.

I reckon for names, Lesible *Less-ee-ble* and Ormatu *as spelt*, just an idea for fantasy names, I'm pretty good with those. Used to make loads up when I wrote fantasy a few months ago.. Awesome picture by the way, love the detail!! <3
