Brief Description
Nat is what you might call a "happy goth." Despite how intimidating she might seem due to how she dresses, she's pretty much a fun loving, laid-back kind of girl at heart. She loves cute things, people with a good sense of humor, good moods, decent vegetarian dishes, tofu, and hugs. She's very laid back- almost to the point of seeming lazy, or not very driven- and perhaps that really is the case. She's non-committal to her schoolwork or even her swim team, which can frustrate the people involved at times.

Creature/Myth History: Pufferfish / Porcupine Mermaid
Put simply: A mermaid with pufferfish genes, or a pufferfish-mermaid sub-branch of mermaid. "Porcupine Mermaid" has also been used instead because everyone assumes that, since she's a pufferfish, Nat can inflate like a blimp. If you're wondering, no, she can't. The only "puffing up" she does is that her hair spikes outward when angry or threatened. This can even become a hazard to nearby students, which is why she keeps it relatively short. Like most mermaids, she changes form when in contact with water, and can sing well.
