Bookmarks - Mother's Day 09

Hope everyone had a lovely Momma's Day. This was probably the most eventful I've been for the past two weeks or so.

Taking a break from my regularly scheduled procrastination, I made these for my mummy :////u

The idea to make bookmarks was actually stupidface Tyshea's =u= durhurhur

I could put these in scraps because of the lame pictures (which I deeply apologize for, I couldn't get any really good ones of these for some ungodly reason, no matter what time of day I did it) but really, I do think how they turned out was alright.

Vaguely the steps I used to make these little things, if you're dying to know:
1) 3/5 index cards cut in half (vertically, obv)
2) sketched drawings directly on, VERY LIGHTLY
3) inked with a .1mm inking pen really generally
4) erased, inked again and added more detail to the lines
5) do a terrible job at inking
6) color with color pencils... pretty basic, i was too afraid to fuck stuff up by getting all creative will traditional blending
7) using the wide clear packaging tape (i guess, i don't know what it's called) I laid the strips down on it (it fits in the center perfectly) and folded it over. this step is pretty attention demanding unless you enjoy tape creases.
8) Optionally, hole punch, loop any dangly thing through the hole. Yay.

I made tassels separately with embroidery thread, but any kinda dangly shit is up to you.

BLAH the chibis didn't turn out eye-bleedingly cute either. I WAS VERY DISPLEASED.
