The moon hangs in his eyes.

--

I felt a hankering to relieve some stress over a sheet of paper instead of sitting at the computer for once. It's been a long time since I approached a traditional project this large, and the first time in many years I can recall I've been happy with something I've done traditionally. I wanted to prove to myself that I still knew how to use a pencil, among other things.

I also paid more attention to Shasalis' construction here, taking care to render individual tufts of hair, to solidly display the anatomy of his head, and to feature the wrinkle and upturn of the nose that takes place while snarling. Some liberty was taken in his markings and greyscale value for the sake of this piece.

Now I have something new to adorn my wall. :) I missed that.

Holy crap.. what's your secret to all that detail? (hahaha ya don't have to answer that, because I know it's mainly patience! xD I need that. ;_; )

I really love this piece~! and the textures from the pencil and other traditional things always, in my opinion, makes things look a lot better. <3

Laid to Rest Says:

I really don't even know where to begin when I look at this.

It seems that your art, more than anyone else's, is capable of inspiring so many conflicting emotions in me. When I first saw this, I was in immediate awe from it's shear beauty in general. This awe was then followed by a powerful swirling of humility, jealousy, depression, and empowerment. It makes me realize just how far I have to go, but inspires me to actually shoot for it, instead of accepting where I am.

You're a continual inspiration, especially when you produce such beautiful pieces as this. <3

This looks amazing X3 I love the "weight" that traditional media has in a piece like this. His hair/fur looks so touchable.. I want.. to style it~

jack h Says:

This is GORGEOUS <3 I like his horns in particular.

Backwards Twin 2 Says:

His horns and face are amazing! I also love the detail you gave his hair and fur. Simply stunning backround. <3

Major Says:

Oh my gosh... this came out beautifully! The subtle shading of the mechanical pencil further adds to the beauty of this piece. Gorgeous! @_@

Merina Says:

I think this is a really good one. Also I'm surprised by the detail you can put into the hairs, I always think that would be a kind of hard thing to do.

Shadow Dinosaur Says:

 You have a great way with expression posture of your characters. :P Keep it up dude!
