This piece is... kind of personal, actually. Normally I don't really express my feelings in art... sorry about that.

Listening to Hitomi's If I Were A Bird, the Code Geass R2 episode 19 insert song, kind of inspired this. Kinda... deepened the mood of me I guess. Admittedly, I teared up occasionally because that song was on repeat while working on this. I've had a friend on my mind for a while now, so I guess inspiration was bound to happen eventually.

I tried something a little different this time for color. Sketched the girl out by hand, then did everything else with tablet. I traced her outlines with the color of what that part would be, so there wouldn't be any black lineart instead. Her hair had a lot more outlines, but they weren't really kept that well due to resizing... oh well. I'm aware of how weird the base of her hair looks, but I couldn't really figure out a method to fix it. Background's okay I guess. I'm really not good with environments. I wanted a completely different background than what I ended up with (it kind of ended up similiar to a previous picture of Sarius) but... I really wasn't willing to mess around all that much... I wanted a more mountainous environment for her to overlook the distance, and not even have the water at all, but rocky terrain is not one of my strong points, plus tired and not wanting to mess around... I just copped out. ._.

I told myself this is the last thing I'm doing until I finish the gift art I owe people. I should've been working on that instead of this. Spent about four hours or so total.

^^ It's really beautiful. The dress is so pretty, and I love those boots. Your composition and level of detail is getting a lot better, too! I see you used a strand-by-strand hair technique, too! It looks good. The sunset looks pretty, too; the light ray brush worked pretty well.

I can identify with the feeling of the pic, trust me... It's one of those things that may never go away, but we have to keep on living, even if a large part of us really does just stop.
