Concept art for the recurring villains and main comic relief for a comic concept that I've been developing for print over some time now. With 50+ pages drawn as thumbnails and a script in place I thought it was time to do some of the digital side. Some of you will have noticed this little fella and his kin popping up in my gallery before with a series of concept sketches for characters based on MMORPG stereotypes, he's an UNI - which are fast becoming my personal mascot these days.
UNI: Small black creatures with one eye and a horn. Usually one foot tall and humanoid in shape, they can adapt to different habitats (growing bigger, having wings, etc) but remain clueless. Think of them as a cross between a 'Heartless' from Kingdom Hearts and a 'Prinni' from Disgaea and your close to the concept I have for them in my head. The name derives from the french number 'one' and refers to their single giant eye.
Anybody else think he's cute?
