The ruviyal is a Cardassian man's traditional dress for the region of Nevot. In the main Sigils and Unions universe (my offsite fanfic), this (and other regions' traditions) is rarely seen except on very special occasions in Nevot, because of the cultural homogenization resulting from totalitarian rule.

(Incidentally, the man you're seeing here is not Nevotda--Nevot is the region that gave us Legate Broca. But Broca wasn't cool enough for this, and if my boss EVER figured out he was the model for Dr. Istep, one of my fanfic characters--yikes! ;) )

He's not perfect, but I am very pleased with what I've done here.

I've tried to keep a recognizably "Cardassian" aesthetic, but allow much more regional flavor than we ever got to see in canon. My inspiration was the traditional clothing of the Han Chinese.

Oh, and from a real-life perspective, how I LOVE the Cardassian aesthetic--it lets my love for Art Deco really come out to play.

I had to take a photo because the scanner was chewing up the final version too badly. If anyone's interested, I can post the original lineart and WIPs as well.

You're definitely getting the hang of drawing folds of cloth. The sleeves are especially nice. :-)

I really like the design of the clothes and what a wonderful colouring! :D
Great job! :)

I'm guessing the Cardassians are your favourites then eh? But serious, this is awesome. Nice work.

In truth i'm more fo the Klingons though.

I love the back stories you have with each drawing. I don't know, they always seem to suck me into your elaborated world. I guess, it gives me a short, but sweet break from the mundane activities of life I suppose. XD

But absolutely stunning work on the drawing. You keep this up, and someone may have to swoop you up for an animated sequal to Star Trek. ;)

Great clothes design, I think the limited colour really works in this :)
