The Great V'Day Sketch Catch Extravaganzapalooza 2009...#67! For
Maria T.
My beloved Maria asked for a sketch of Mulder and Scully, from
The X-Files.
Oh, man...
X-Files. I was
so crazy about this show during its heyday. Amidst all my adolescent awkwardness and feelings of, er, alienation and loserliness, this program kinda existed like a bright beacon of light and hope. It's like the show was custom-made for me, being full of danger and mystery and monsters and weirdness and snazzy black suits, and a playfully bantering sexual tension between an intelligent, confident, ambitious (and sexy in a mature, womanly way) female and that rougishly and unkemtly handsome, big-schnozzed eccentric dispenser of social-fringe sagacity. *Dreamy sigh.*
After a while, my mother forbid me from watching it because she deemed it too violent, and I think she was afraid I'd get interested in the occult or something. I cried for weeks.
...Anyway, Maria is completely awesome. And
The X-Files is awesome. And this picture is titled for a line in a
Catatonia song.
