music in it's entirety by and (c) thewaves [myself]
lyrics (c) and written/performed by the waves [myself]
--
leaves are falling
and there's no ground beneath them
change is calling
but no one's there to hear
and I don't think that you can understand
the world we know will waste away like sand
waves are breaking
but there's no water in them
winds are blowing
and there's no trees for it
to ride along these shores we call our home
time ticks by like life's a broken tome
skin is seething
the rays of light will catch me
God bequeathing
existence for us all
and once we see the way that we must go
our lives will mean much more than you can know
One of the finest examples of this genre. So clean, so simple, and so LONG without being so boring. With a message no less. May all you Sheezyers dig it in its awesome occupation of the audio universe.
Second, on a more technical note, this has got to be one of your most developed pieces of this length, you have others, but they tended toward the minimalistic. This, on the other hand, develops amazingly throughout and I never once got bored, the effects that you used to keep things interesting as well as the introduction of new elements were perfectly balanced. I was hoping for more of that intro vocal line, but that's only becuase I loved it so much. Great work Waves.
I like the progression in this piece as well. And that it was nice and long. It speeded up my updates pages no end! Yours is the only techno music I listen to these days and it really is refreshing what you do.
I still can't get over how much I love your music. Most techno/electronica I hear is just very repetitive, just a bunch of fast beats and sort of a melody. But your music... it has such flow, rhythm, and a diverse melody to where it is extremely unique in the music world. It reminds me a lot of Air. And gosh... the lyrics.... this is a supremely awesome song! You've made my day brighter. Thank you!
I second everything that Cyril said, I love all the different phases the song goes through, and it kept it interesting right to the end. Good lyrics too, well done!
Oh, good, I'm so glad you were able to finally upload this for everyone. You deprive the world of your voice + lyric-writing talent far too much. You got to do some stuff in this song that you wanted to do for a while, and it really turned out great.
(HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT I GOT THIS SONG A WEEK AGO I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO IT ON MY MP3 PLAYER. OH OH WHAT NOW.)
Terrific piece! Oh, and if you want my honest opinion, I so want this to be featured
Though, I really dont want to consider it a religious song, because really, it doesnt contain the mush that all christian songs contain. I find it to be more inspirational than anything else.
