While I was working at Rainforest in Schaumburg, I met a regular patron named Bryan. He and his family came in about once a month, and we'd always stop and have a quick conversation while I was working. Once, Bryan and I were talking about my Portfolio classes for college, and how much printing I was going to have to have done- business cards, resumes, DVD inserts, disc labels, the works, and I'd already spent a ton of money on print portfolio pages alone. As it turned out, Bryan owned a printing and design business in a nearby town, and offered to print all my materials! The only payment he would accept was for me to redesign his website.

EJ's adverts use an urban meets floral motif, which I hope to capture in the final design of the site. You can already see some of the floral influence in the frills alongside the table. While remaining true to the color scheme set up on the current website, I wanted to pull away from the neon Matrix-like feel of dark navy blue and bright green. I desaturated and brightened the colors in the main logo, while surrounding it with a very mute dark blue to make the brighter logo pop. The main addition I'll be adding to the established design are the rotating blue and green rings, which gives it a more 2000's feel over the '90's look of the current website.

Anywaaaaays... that's about all I have to say about what I have so far. What do you guys think?

YoshyRyu Says:

It's simple, well designed with the flowery patterns and color usage.
You did a great job on it - are you going to continue working on it? I like how it looks as is but if you are going to add more stuff I'm sure it'll improve the appearance of the site.

Squid Says:

It's simple and very clean cut. The colors blend together well.

The fax and telephone numbers seem a bit awkward, I wonder how it would look if they were both sized the same and lined up together? Maybe stick a tel: in front of it? Just an idea.

Man its hard just to make a comment on Sheezy x_x;

Anyway, the site is solid. Good colors, nice graphics, easy composition. Only complaint is the navigation is a tad difficult to locate. Perhaps Put them in bold/ larger font links.

Prismind Says:

very nice. i would think a wider layout would be better. A lot of negative space, not to say it's a bad thing.

POPAROCKA Says:

Got enough windows of different adobe products open XD ahah, well that looks really smooth I like the sullewittng effect on the page.
