For any of you who might not have seen the original 1990 movie, this page directly follows the third page of the style preview, with April and the Foot in the subway.
One of the biggest criticisms I received for page 3 was that April's jawline was a bit too masculine, and here I tried to soften it up some. In an early concept for
Cowabunga!, we were going to have an original character, a human teenage girl named Milo, who I designed around the same time I designed April. April wound up with a taller face than Milo to show their age difference, and the version of April you saw previously was a holdover from that concept.
Also on the topic of April, I dislike the third panel a lot. I drew April's pose once, and as much as April was basically there to be a sex object in the old cartoon, the original pose was just TOO much T&A
And, uh, by the way. No more Style Preview pages.
Next time it's the real deal.

oh well, I'm sure the "real deal" will be awesome aswell! =D
And yes, April's jaw line is much better in this page. :)
