I spent much of this past week doodling bugs in my notes, and like many things that led to drawing some aliens. What I came up with were these! I don't know what to call them, so I've been thinking of them as "super squirrels," but no that's not their name dammit. The idea was to come up with a creature that you experience on an environmental scale, as opposed to the way other animals on the earth tend to be either smaller or just a little larger than people. These stand on hundred-foot legs at the edges of cliffs to eat vegetation and small animals. They live and move very slowly, so most of the time the plants grow back before they've cleared the area; one might stand at the same cliffside for generations relative to humans. Hence, their legs become a part of the ecosystem below.
Their bodies, just little dots from this view, <a href="http://www.fiendsfridge.com/full/00000001795.jpg">look like this. Ugly I know, isn't it cool?

created and drawn by me.

Ooo, Interesting. Kind of how a fly, who lives for a few weeks, wouldn't believe the tree it is living on is alive, or how most people don't believe that the planets themselves are either.

Very cool, despite all the ugly.
