Morning At El Capitan

I chose a vertical format to accentuate the vertical relationship between the majestic rock mountain and tall pine trees.
I enjoyed painting the intricate planes and textured weathered rock formations. Painting the mountain with a limited palette, and keeping unity through the entire scene was by itself a nice challenge.
The inspiration for this painting came from a photo by Evey. (deviantArt)
