It's been exactly one month and one day since my babies were born. To commemorate the occasion, I decided to put together this little "scrapbook" kind of thing... I can't say I'm very artistic when it comes to photography, that's why it's just bare pictures. I hope you'll like it nonetheless.

I have named the gray baby "Cricket", and the yellow baby "Clover". This collection shows what they looked like from around 2 or 3 days old up until now--between 4 and 5 weeks. They may look a little dirty in some of the photos. That's because I only remember to photograph them after they've just been fed, and are they ever messy! If you have ever fed a hungry animal--especially a bird--you know exactly what I'm talking about! Anyway, right now I am getting them on solid foods. What you see Cricket eating at the bottom is a very large persimmon. He just nibbled and nibbled that thing until it had a big hole in it. xD Clover isn't as active as Cricket is, not by a long shot. For eing only 2 days apart, there is quite a difference in their sizes.

Cockatiels grow rapidly and gain weight every day. When I started raising them, I woke up every single hour, round the clock. No, I did not get to sleep from midnight to sunrise. I got up every hour. Then, two weeks later, I felt comfortable with 2-hour feedings. Now, at 4 or 5 weeks old, we are at 3-hour feedings. They can go 4 hours if I really need some sleep. So keep in mind, everyone, I haven't slept more than 3 hours at a time for 30-something days! Keep that in mind next time you feel like arguing with me. xD (kidding, kidding! I'm holding up fairly well. Not perfect, but fair.)

Enough chatter. I hope you enjoy seeing my babies. =) We think Cricket is a boy and Clover is a girl, mostly by how bold, active and vocal they are. Supposedly, that IS a reliable way to make a guess with cockatiels.

Aw! They're adorable! Clover especially. I didn't know birds grew so fast. o_o Still, they're pretty. I get the feeling Cricket likes your yarn?

I'm very glad to see the satisfactory evolution of these two little guys. You've made a lot of sacrifices here, specially concerning sleeping time, but now I hope you really get more time to relax. You really deserve some rest after the hard work and its wonderful results.
