As soon as I get home from school today, as is the Hell pit of an auditorium full of kids wasn't enough, I find my favorite chicken bloodied up in the face.

So here's the story, when my mom got chickens, she only ordered one male, cause more than that would fight. And as it turns out, my favortie chicken is a male too. And they started going at it today. My favorite, Onigiri(the white one *duh*) had beaten him, as it sounded in the story my mom told me. But THIS shit happens when I get home.

So we cleaned Oni up, and separated him and the Boss Man(the original rooster). But we really couldn't find a good way to keep 'em apart. Either Boss would gt lonely or something...

So now the question comes up, Who do we get rid of? I don't want to get rid of EITHER of them. But it might come down to it if we can't keep them separated...

So how do we choose? Well, Oni is kind of a bully. I'm hoping its just a phase. But if it isn't...well....he's a bully. And the Boss is real nice but HE has a thing called "cross beak." And you're technically not supposed to even keep those chickens. Let alone letting them breed. Its a genetic trait where the top and bottom of the beak don't match up, and they could have trouble eating.

So I dunno what to do. :< This is really just the fucking icing on the cake today. >;[

But if there are any experienced chicken owners out there reading this, please, can you throw some advice as to what to do my way? Cause my mom and I really don't know what to do...

PS -- I DO NOT wanna hear any jokes about the title. They don't call 'em 'rooster fights' you perverted twats. >;[

Arkan Says:

lol cock. Now then, with that aside, I suggest getting rid of Boss. It sucks =[ but which one do you favor?

Rindunica Says:

OH NO! not oni! :(

YoshyRyu Says:

I'd have to get rid of the one who has the cross beak.
Just going with the information about them not being aloud to be kept or breed. >w>
Nicely illustrated.

Arbiter K Says:

I would suggest removing the one with the cross beak. Even though Oni may be a bully, at least his genes are good, I suppose. Just a thought =[

You just don't see much chicken-based art out there,. so this caught my eye. (I like chickens a lot, just came in from feeding mine, hee.)

That said, I like the piece - because it's pretty powerful, and the eye and expression is very realistic.

Hmmm -- how many hens do you have, and how big is your coop, or are they free ranging? If you have enough hens, and enough space, the two of them may find their order in the flock, decide who is boss rooster. I had a scuffle here with ours at one point, and then when there were enough hens, each of them had their own set of girls and decided it wasn't worth the effort picking on the other roo. I admit - I don't have any more roos here at this time, but ours years ago did settle down and were all right when they matured. Adolescence is a rough time - even for chickens, I guess.

I too would probably place the one with the cross-beak because of the issues they can have, but unfortunately, there's just not much of a market for roosters. :/ Hopefully, your bully is just going through a phase and the nice guy told him he was getting too big for his britches.
