Barring final approval, this is complete, so may as well post it. This was a commission piece for a friend that I work with. The main criteria for the piece was to incorporate this symbol, the "World Peace Pendant". I spit-balled a few ideas until coming up with this mysterious-looking figure holding an ancient version of it, and after a few more brainstorming sessions, came up with this idea. Aside from the figure, I wanted the background to incorporate several topographical features and man-made icons, to further drive home the world peace angle. The character was therefore placed against a sky simultaneously at dawn and dusk, the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Gisa, an American desert mountain range and an Alpine one, an evergreen forest and a tropical one.

This is pretty solid, mate. I really like the shading on the cloaked figure especially. The one thing that irks me is the background seems to clash a bit with the foreground. I like the content, but it's really angular and crisp and makes perspective seem off. If you were to blur it a bit or something that might help. That or I'm just being picky. Sorry.
But at any rate, I still dig it. Nicely done.
