Black Wings Chapter One
"Shit!", Shadow cursed under his breathe, seeing one of the guards in their path, just in front of the last corner they needed to turn on, of which lead to the entrance of the room their brother was held. Keeping an eye on the guard, hoping that he still didn't see them yet, he put his sister down, of whom quickly moved out of his way, leaning on one of the walls. He took out his sword--- of which was one of those swords without sheaths, and had an ability and meaning of power to it--- and ran behind the guard, using the handle on his sword to knock him out. He couldn't kill him, yet-- he didn't want his younger sister to scold him again. Seeing that the way was clear, he motioned for her to come, and she obeyed. When she was next to him, they both started out into a run, turning that last, final corner, and reached the door. He opened it, and walked in before she could--- it was more of a precaution to protect his sister than wanting to get to his brother first, and for more than one reason.
Upon entering the room, they could see an old friend of theirs, Zarias. He was an enemy now, though, and was not going to be forgiven. As Angel ran over to Shade-- being not all that far from where they had stood-- he'd stepped forward to greet her, happy to see them both again. Shadow was locked in a glaring contest with Zarias, not happy to have run into him here. So much for the plan going smoothly. Ah well, he'd been itching to tear Zarias to shreds, especially after what he'd done to their friend--- specifically Shade's--- who's name was Rika. She had been an orphan like them, at the time, and they had not known she'd died until after they had gone to see if she could help them get Shade back. Moving into a fighting stance with his sword, Shadow awaited for Zarias to start using his magic.
