It was a mistake for Dawn to catch it. Ice is waaaay overused in contests. Seriously, Buneary had Ice Beam, so why Swinub??? It's a Buizel situation all over again!
Okay, so people think that Dawn's only allowed to catch cute Pokemon, and said people ALSO believe that Swinub will evolve all the way to Mamoswine, a Pokemon that is in no way cute whatsoever? Come on-show some consistency and MAKE UP YOUR FREAKING MINDS.
Though Dawn really needs some evolutions, I seriously doubt that Swinub will ever evolve. Evolve Piplup already; he needs it more than Swinub does.
And, on the very slim chance that Swinub DOES evolve at all/all the way, it'll pretty much be a big slap in the face to all those people who believe Piplup won't evolve because Dawn's Pokemon must ALL be cute little puffballs and Piplup's evos are ugly (I personally love Piplup's evo line).
Honestly, if people think Dawn's Swinub will become Mamoswine, why do they find it so hard to believe that Piplup will be Empoleon one day? The DP Mascot excuse doesn't work because we all know (and it's officially been confirmed) that Dawn will leave the group when DP is over to make way for the fifth gen. girl. Piplup isn't going to be around forever-the only PERMANENT Pokemon mascot always has been, and always will be-Pikachu. No reason to keep him as Piplup when he'll be gone at the end of DP. Sheesh.
