-THIS MANGA IS READ LIKE A TRADITIONAL MANGA, FROM RIGHT TO LEFT-
This is one thing I loved doing in the first chapter. Unlike many stories, where the hero is just some unknown person who rises in fame, I always liked the idea of heroes who were well known. Why? Because it allowed me to skip the rise to fame, would often create a great deal of backstory, and would allow for an interesting situation: Not living up to your name. Take an anime like Bleach (Yes, I like to reference Bleach) and let's say Ichigo was already a Shinigami. Not only that, but he was a well accomplished one. Now, imagine the shift it would make in the beginning. It would first allow for more time to introduce the characters rather than to start an initial build up on Ichigo's skills. It would then later on lead him into the kind of fights that he's been fighting lately in the manga; fights where the odds are against him, he has a name now, and he just can't live up to that name. This allows for the story to be sped through a bit, while they could turn a lot of the story into backstory. All of a sudden, all of those "power struggle" things are in the back story. :)
"Mav" is the name Skye once went by. In particular, it was the name he was given upon his creation. I'm not gonna get heavy into the details, just that he changed his name.
