-THIS MANGA IS READ LIKE A TRADITIONAL MANGA, FROM RIGHT TO LEFT-
Veon here is the first pure elven character in the story. He and one other, Merenwen, are the only major pure elves in the story, as the rest of them are either holed up in Abrana or are thought to be dead. So far, Veon's turned out to be what I wanted; in essence, he's suppose to be the "best friend" role. Using Bleach as an example, if Skye were Ichigo then Veon would be Chad. They're great friends who are there to fight for one another and to help each other grow. This is how Veon and Skye are.
When I was designing Veon, I had two ways to go: Either develop him as a well known, well respected individual among the elves, or to make him virtually unknown person. By going the first way, I could pre-develop a number of traits, including giving him great leadership and combat skills. In the end, though, I didn't want him to be some great leader, so I shifted his father into that role. For most of his life, his father seemed to shadow him from others. Eventually, though, he got forced into the spotlight and had to adapt.
One thing I especially loved about Veon is that, being he's an elf, he has a grand understanding of the balance between light and shadow. However, he himself is associated only to the light. It makes for an interesting imbalance, especially since no other elf has been tied to shadow or light. They're all fire, water, wind, or earth.
