Surrender - Chapter 1 - WIP
Sweat mixed with tears as Sean Cole, ran through the streets. They were empty and quiet at this time of night. Just an hour ago he received a phone call stated that there's been an accident, and he was to get to the hospital as soon as possible.
He immediately knew what it had to be about. Earlier that day, the man that he called his father had fought with his 9 year old sister, on how she was getting to her friends sleep over party she wanted to attend. They argued until finally his father agreed that he would take her. He was not keen on letting her go in the first place. Sean did not like for his sister to drive with him, for he was not the most cautious of drivers. News that there was an accident and he had to go to hospital, only proved his fears to be correct.
Sean busted through the hospital door, and asked the nurse at the desk where he could find his sister, though out of breath, he managed to make his worry heard. The Nurse told him where to go and he wasted no time getting there.
"Hayley!" He shouted after he had found her room, he ran too his sisters side. "Hayley.."
"Are you the brother?" Sean turned to face a nurse who had followed him in, and nodded. "Well sir, why don't we have a seat outside and I'll tell you what happened."
"I'm not leaving her side." Sean told the nurse, grabbing a hold of Hayley's hand.
The nurse nodded. "Well, what happened was your father-"
"He's not my father." Sean almost growled the last bit, never taking his eyes off his poor sister.
"Your step father, ran a red light. He missed the truck that was heading his way. It struck him on your fathers side." She paused for a minute as if not wanting to say the next part. "He was killed instantly. The truck smashed your sisters side against another oncoming car, and well. Hayley is in a coma...the doctors don't know if she'll-"
"Don't say that. She will! I know she will." Tears started flowing again, apart of him knew his little sister was a fighter, he knew she wouldn't give up. She would wake, he told himself. She would wake.

"You know, your uncle went to this school when he was your age. And look at him now, he's a big time lawyer. You'll do great here!" Sean pressed his face against the backseat window, and stared out at the passing lines on the road, counting each one as they drove.
A month passed since the accident. The doctors decided her condition was to fatal for her to ever wake up. Sean being underage did not have the power to decided her fate. Therefore it was handed over to Hayley's god mother who, through a fit of tears, told them she shouldn't suffer, and to pull the plug. Sean held onto her until no signs of life remained.
He now lived with his god mother, whom was not the aunt who, as Sean put it, denied his sister the chance of waking. She was driving Sean to the new school he would be attending now. His guardians decided, the sooner he goes back, the better chance he will find something to take his mind off Hayley.
"Are you listening to me?" Sean's aunt asked looking up into the rear view mirror to look at him.
"Yea." He lied, trying to concentrate more on the lines on the road, then his memories of what happened.
"Oh look we're here!" Sean looked up to see he was pulling up to the school. It was tall. It looked to be about three floors. "Do you think you'll be able to walk home now that you know where it is? Your uncle and I are working and can't come get you." He just nodded, and opened the door. He stepped out onto the sidewalk, and stared up at the school with a sigh.
"See you later honey!" With that his aunt drove off.
Sean watched the car as it drove off, then turned back to the school. He was certainly not ready, but he had no other choice. He walked across the lawn, and up the steps to the doors. He walked in, and looked around. He was in the front hall, it stretched horizontally on either side. In front of him was two sets of double glass door, with red curtains over the back of them, so he couldn't see what was on the other side. He looked up and above the doors it read "Auditorium"
