Another drawing from Otakon. After doing a bunch of shameless sell-out drawings of popular "anime" stuff, I thought I'd do a drawing of something that
I actually really like.
So...As y'all already know, my favorite* animated movie is Katsuhiro Otomo's
Akira. (It's also one of my favorite comics, yes.

)
So, here is young Mr. Tetsuo Shima--either the story's villain, or its tragic hero, take your pick--from the story's climactic "mutation" scene. Awwwwwww, I love ittttttt....
Here. Enjoy some wonderful
music from the soundtrack, by Geinoh Yamashiro-Gumi.

*Yes, this is my favorite animated movie. Yes, it's Japanese. There is no correlation between these two facts. It's a great film because Mr. Otomo is a very talented man, and because he got a lot of money to spend on the animation for his vision. Ethnicity doesn't have
anything to do with it.

Man, this thing looks so much more dramatic framed in your grey on here. It just leaps off the page. Totally gotta slap that into a frame with a heavy matte.

Love it!

This is more action packed than what I have seen you draw lately.
Need more action!

And yes, Akira is the best thing to come out of Japan, ever.... of course, that's excluding Miyazaki's films... that's just not a fair comparison... I think they're about even though.
