goddamn, i messed up the watercolor so badly (right) that i completely re-drew and re-colored it in marker (left) and the markers i colored the feathers with were icky. so i'm still not done with EITHER.
sorry for shitty photograph. well, actually, i'm not. it's a shitty photograph of some half-finished artworks that are supposed to be nearly identical. it's okay.
in other news, i watched "a cry in the dark" and it was fantastic. if you ever feel like getting all the joy of "law and order", "the crocodile hunter", and "steel magnolias", watch it.

I think each are respectively good in their own right.
The watercolour piece is very subtle in colour and tone, yet in the hair has a lot more contrast and depth, while the surrounding areas seem to blend effortlessly to the piece from the paper. However, the marker piece has it's own quality in it's depth and colour of a consistent level throughout the piece, and the lovely highlights in the hair.
I'm spoilt for choice here but I think the marker piece will look fantastic. :)
