Question:
"Do you have any personal memories attached to the rain? If so, what?"
Answer:
-smiles- Maybe you remember this, too--
“Come on!†I pull Tony with me towards the sliding-glass doors to Jazz’s backyard, where it is positively pouring rain. There’s a little bit of thunder, but it’s far off and no lightning’s to be seen. The warm summer air is heavy with moisture and the fragrance of Mr. Hackney’s vibrant flower garden, the colors of which are blurred and mixed by the constant raindrops like an Impressionist painting viewed too closely.
He grabs something off the table beside the door and opens it as soon as we’ve stepped outside. It’s a black umbrella and he hands it to me to hold. I close it and shake what little water it had collected over his head with a laugh.
“What do I need this for?†I say, tossing it against the side of the house. “I’ve got you.†He smacks his forehead with his hand, understanding my play on words all too well, but laughs along with me.
Within seconds we’re completely soaked. Jazz and Macbeth skip past us hand-in-hand and with a shout jump into the in-ground pool, which is starting to overflow from all the rain. They come back up hollering and splashing one another, clothes and makeup forgotten. Their haircolor starts to run—they must have done it recently—and everywhere they go they leave trails of blue and green or purple behind them in the water.
I pull my wet, clinging socks off and force Tony into a waltz, for which he starts singing, softly at first and gaining in volume as we dance. I hum along and join him when I’ve picked up some of the repeating parts. The raindrops on the concrete, the pool, the grass, and the flowers are the percussion; our voices are the orchestra; the thunder is our applause.
There is definitely something cleansing about what we’re doing. Our cares thrown to the wind, at least for an hour, we do silly things like these and let the rain wash away the rest. Purified as we stand, we could almost be normal kids again. But destiny’s touch has changed us all, so even now with everything else stripped away we are different. We always will be.
Speaking of always, I’ve always wanted to kiss somebody in the rain. So I do and almost melt in the process. It’s been so long and he’s so much mine.
That's my answer.

I was lazier on this one than Jazz's, but mostly because it's like, twice the size....
