Meet Legate Tekeny Ghemor, a Cardassian dissident from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a very honorable character with a special attunement to matters of the heart even while caught in a political system that seems to do its best to suppress every sign of compassion. He's a father who will do just about anything for his daughter's good--even if that means giving her up. And even when he found out the truth (see the episodes "Second Skin" and "Ties of Blood and Water"--I'm not gonna give spoilers!), he didn't let matters of race and politics stand in the way of real fatherly affection.

Here is the reference I'm using: http://www.memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Image:Tekeny-Ghemor.jpg

Plus, when I saw the grey paper I had on hand, it was just screaming for me to draw a Cardassian!

Thanks to everyone who provided advice on the WIPs!

A special shout-out goes to , and Robert Sloan at deviantART for their wonderful work with colored pencils and colored paper, which was the inspiration behind my taking on something this ambitious. Thank you very much to both of you guys!!!

(P.S.: The lettering on the left-hand side is NOT Cardassian. It is Aramansch script, from my [non-Trek] novel The Way of the Shadow Blade.)

O_O Dang....

Helaris Says:

I am very impressed with how this turned out!

You should draw more often. :3

Lindale Says:

This is really good! The colours work really well, and without getting in the way of the lighting too

whirlwynd Says:

Cool! All the little details are really neat ^^ The hair and face really catch my eye -

Jolie Says:

I can see why that shirt was giving you fits. That thing's a monster. *chuckle* But he turned out quite nicely!

Eshkenazi Says:

I always liked the cardassians some how. At least, I've always liked their design. Great job shading the face--wrinkles and jowls can be so difficult to add without making them look stiff but you did a great job. :)

shadoweddragon Says:

Wonderful job!
I love how you did the face! The eyes caught my attention right away.
And awesome that this was done on grey paper.
If I were to try to draw him, I would've ended up drawing him on white paper, spending hours colouring the background grey!
