The name “Seductress” has become something feared throughout the Lylat system, and those who’ve seen her sharp black fuselage have shivered in fear…the wolfess is on the hunt.

Seductress is a Space Dynamics LE-122 “Interceptor.” Renowned as a high-performance law-enforcement ship, the Interceptors were easy to modify, and are still a mainstay of the “Frontier Fleet,” as well as numerous pirate and outlaw fleets. However, most of the outlaw ships are not “True” Interceptors, but stripped-down commercial versions. Very few Military or Police-spec Interceptors fly in private hands: Seductress is one of these.

Seductress’s primary mechanical modifications center around a modified warp drive: necessary for pursuits against hot-rodded smuggler’s ships, the Warp drive equipment takes up most of the cargo bay area. After Full Moon over Stockholm, the shields and acceleration compensation system, meant to lessen the effect of maneuvers and thrust, were upgraded to more durable components. The 50MM cannons used in the nose and turret guns are stock, and pack a punch, if they’re slow-firing: they fire sequentially to compensate. The ship also has a B-Bomb launcher, recently modified with an experimental system that can shape the blast for various purposes, such as busting bunkers, or destroying a single fighter or assault ship.

The Interceptor was designed to have a high climb rate, high top speed, and relatively high degree of maneuverability for a ship it’s size. It’s six-coil G-diffuser system, and four powerful Plasma-Jet engines mean that it can get to orbiting heights in less than 3 minutes, and it’s “Scramble-start” feature means it has a quicker start-up time than even modified pirate ships: It can be flying in less than a minute. While it can’t out-maneuver a fighter, it can surprise an unsuspecting pilot…especially if the Interceptor’s pilot is a good one.

The majority of Shakira’s money has been spent on a complex flight and avionics system, as well as reconfiguring the interior. Before she met Wolf, she worked alone, but the ship was designed for a minimum crew of three. The new computers allow the ship to be crewed by merely one, and include a beckon/call program, that can start the ship, fly it to Shakira’s location, and land it. Shakira can even control the ship somewhat in this mode, for final landing trim…as well as some other more creative uses. The sensor suite is also far better than stock. The interior was reworked, and includes a lavish cabin behind the cockpit, the home away from home for Shakira, as well as an armored holding cell (Formerly crew’s quarters, and once dented by Wolf’s behind when the compensators failed) and a fair-sized galley. An escape pod is carried under a concealed panel on the outside of the ship should the unthinkable happen, although Shakira’s not even sure if it still works.

The narrow windows at the back of the cockpit are to the captain’s cabin, while the tiny window looks in upon the holding cell.
