star wars - "rebel scum" tattoo

i put this in "traditional -> ink" because...it fits? and i couldn't find a tattoo catagory.

finalized and inked on "rebel scum" tattoo design. i'd been trying for a good couple years to come up with a design that incorperates gears (what, i like gears and clockwork) with the rebel alliance logo from star wars. this is because i am a huge nerd. star wars was essentially what kept me from being the 90s version of a myspace teen and helped me out of my shell.

i've been a die-hard fan ever since i was about 13. i know this because i remember thinking how i was almost as old as Tigris, a character in one of the books.

the prequels are lies, filth and slander and i hold the x-mas special as canon before them. essentially i feel like anywhere the franchise went the moment Lucas edited han to shoot second was "not star wars."

man, i am a star wars NERD.

...IN TERMS OF THE ACTUAL DESIGN...

there's a pretty harsh variation from the 'flower' on the logo in the original design and in the actual tattoo. that was an error on the artist's part which he labored to fix, and i think he did a pretty good job of it. tattooing is a real and very unforgiving medium which parlor artists have told me is KIND of like working with water colours in terms of how skin will bleed/spread ink. but not really, since skin is nothing like paper at all. and, being a real medium, when you fuck up...there's no undo button.

so while it's not identical, i am SERIOUSLY impressed he was able to correct his error to the point where it still looks like the design and only a completely anal nerd like myself would even notice the difference.
