This reminded me of those wolf-dog legends from the Ainu, until I saw that it wasn't actually a dog close up >< But the markings on the face are similar.
I love this, seriously, Not just the pure awesome of the design, but the coloring, the shading--the whole package. I especially like the spots, (!) the feet, the belly and the ears. ^^
