"The goose was passing by
Honk Honk Honk
He stopped and gave the dance a try
Honk Honk
Bossa Nova had them dancing
A new thing, a new swing"
lol my neighbor used to have a pet goose in her backyard, had a heated house for it and everything. And it still hissed like crazy at me if I came too close to the fence. They are jerks.
The reason it most likely attacked you was none other then the fact that you were taking a picture of it. The camera lens to them looks like an eye, a none blinking eye, and for them, that's a sign of a predator. They tend to get aggressive to try and defend themselves and such.
Hopefully it gives you some heads up while taking pictures of animals... if they start staring at your camera, now might be the time to lower it.
ps: You're quite lucky, for this is about the only post i've done on 172 updates... And I've only bothered to look at you're photography. I must say, a great shot this is and nicely done on Tyler has a twin. Keep practicing.

Geese are very mean. xD He was probably territorial; maybe you were getting near his mates eggs?

There's a decent number of jerk animals.
