Remember when I did the Mediumn test? Well I tried doing a color test, but failed, and when watching the documentry "Shock of the New". It's a modern Art documentary, it's alright, but whenever I watch it, it makes me draw some cool shit. Last time I watched it, the OrLane Wangs picture came out. So watching that documentary, I was inspired to work outside my art style. I remember something back from high school art class about a style called, "Emotionalism" I think. It's basically twisting objects and such as to create intense emotion out of it. I tried this with Til. I used six emotional states she frequents and tried out me some emotionalism on her ass.
Going top to bottom, left to right:
Mother/Gentle - with warm colors, soft texture, and colored pencils
Disgusted/Frustrated - with neutral colors, sunken style, and oil pastels
Confused/Shocked - With opposite colors, cubist infulenced, and with colored pencils
Smug/Greedy - with royal colors, streatched style, and in markers
Rage/Unhinged - with bold colors, and done in markers
Sudden Violent Saddness - with grays and blues, and done in watercolors
I'm sounding like a pretentious artist, I don't mean it. I just need to get abstract some times. I have this problem of feeling trapped in my own art style sometimes. A bizarre feeling really.
