All work and no play makes JoJo a dull girl, right? So when I was chattin' with my good ol' homeboy,
Pandaman 
and he showed me a few sketches of his character--a certain Mr. Jules G. Efstern--I couldn't help but nab my favorite one and add some color.
This was a challenge because it was rather low-res lineart that I was using; took some tweaking. And this was good practice, 'cause I've got a bit of work coming up coloring someone else's lines for a comic. (I guess I can never
really get business separated from pleasure.
)
...Not to say this wasn't pleasant. This was a blast. I'm rather in love with ol' Julie. He's so mean, and pale, and vulgar, and Southern!
Muah hah.

I know I haven't said it...but I think this texture trick has really added a lot of new interest to your work, new subtleties and colors in your palette that I like.
