August Phoenix

This was a phoenix with a more Asian style to it. As I was coloring it, I thought it would make a great image for my phoenix calender project for the month of August.

I sketched in the bird and scanned it in, then re-drew the lines on the computer. It took me a long time to color it was well because it was such a large image. I also almost scrapped this one a couple of times because I didn't like how the colors were coming out, but as I recolored it, it started to come out better. The original image was over 3000px by 2000px and when I saved the last image before compressing the layers it was over 20MB in file size! I'll remember not to make such a large image in the future since my computer was not too happy about it ^^
