Dig Me Now and Fuck Me Later

Okay so... I drew this for an assignment for my drawing class. The assignment was to draw a portrait of an existing person with photo reference. But I didn't feel like doing that so I asked deathly to give me photo-refs of this model who looks a lot like her character Neon. I chose to not add all his tattoos though because I knew my teacher would bitch about it :|

The actual drawing was done completely with ink and pencil on a 19x24 piece of Bristol board. It's one of the biggest things I've completed, since I normally don't like working that large. The only digital thing I did was touch up the photo quality in photoshop. It's also sort of related to a.. sort of series of drawings I did for that class. I'll submit the other drawings some other time.

My teacher entered this in SVA's foundation drawing show, though what I had really wanted in the show were the collected series of drawings I did before this one.. though they weren't completely done at the time because the teacher got the wrong date for submission to the show. I didn't win anything at the show, however, the judges for it were all from the MOMA.. so.. they were looking for "modern art" styled kind of things... like sculptures passed off as drawings, splatters, and "abstractly drawn" figures :| ...yea.
