Album cover to
Wyldfyre's sophomore release,
Liberty for All! Check it out!
(In case you've been living under a rock for the past several months, Wyldfyre is my real, actual, totally-fictitious band of musical legends-in-the-making...on a quest to become the greatest rock band of all time, ever.)
My final project in my Watercolor class was to paint on the theme of "America". It inspired me for the theme (
and title track) of the next Wyldfyre album. I thought the concept totally meshed, because rock n' roll is all about personal autonomy, materialism, hedonism, and violent domination...the same things that are the stereotype of the American lifestyle. This was a lot of fun,
and it got me out of having to
actually say anything political, one way or the other. This, after all, is all Johnny Voltage's sense of "style"...and he's an angry little anarchist (of course.)
