I hope this painting is able to convey the wonder and fascination I hold these creatures, in addition to capturing some of the raptor's own intensity and beauty. This piece was entitled 'Enigma' because that is what raptors truly are. Even through fiction, with the imagination of writers and artists, we are only able to glimpse what could have been... What might have been. In reality, we will never know the color of their hide, the sound of their songs, or the ferocity of their eyes. And for this, we are both blessed and cursed.
This painting was done in Photoshop, its base was an original sketch that I scanned.
