I started this a few days ago as an experiment with Masks but stopped, two days ago I picked it up again and did the earth as well as one of the stars, today, I made the stars all flash at different times, which was really frustrating, enjoy!
Also, I have discovered that Masks are magical.

copy two maps together and make it slightly larger, that way if doesnt come up with a whole bunch of empty sea it. also if possible make the masked object seem like its spinning too right now its just panning across and is a bit obvious. The starts a pretty cool

Doesn't work properly... you got the masking bit right but as ARefrigerator said, copy the map twice and enlarge it so that it rotates properly, also, I know the earth spins on an axis but its not that titled...
