Bat desktop

I wanted to put something for my desktop on here… so I chose meh fav. animal… the bat~! This bat ish a big brown bat. X3 ISN’T HE CUTE????

anyways, here are a couple of interesting facts that I have learned about bats that I think are awesome:

1. More than 1,100 of the world’s 4,629 known species are bats. They live in every continent except Antarctica. (from National Wildlife Magazine)
2. They are the only known mammal that can fly.
3. Vampire bats are the only bats that can walk, run, and jump.
4. Vampire bats are one of the only animals that share. When one bat didn’t get enough blood for that night, another bat will regurgitate what it had and give it to that less fortunate bat.
5. Bats ARE NOT flying rats. They are closer to humans than a rodent.
6. Bats are very clean. They groom themselves everyday so that they don’t get any bugs (diseases). So don’t think that all bats have rabies! D8< some bats do get rabies, but it’s rare, just like every other animal.
7. Old Myths: Bats are NOT blind… and they don’t get caught in yer hair, so dun think that stuff! D8<<<
