CHORUS OF CHARACTERS begins, very reverent and hymn-sounding:

Our secret bridge society

Our joyful Lilydale
Where every single citizen is free

FEMALE SOLO:
There are some who dream of Paris
Or seeing cherry blossoms bloom in spring
But as for me, there’s nothing I’d like more to see
Than the underside of Highway 63

CHORUS:

Our little heavenly retreat

(A MAN appears out of the chorus, flinging himself about importantly.)

He exclaims:

(RANDOM WOMAN steps out of the chorus and stands next to the MAN.)

MAN:

(He takes the RANDOM WOMAN’S hand and leads her in an impromptu tap dance.)

CHORUS:
It’s plain for all of us to see
Lilydale’s the only place to be
Our little country’s never been at war
We’ve never had a reason to fight for

MAN:
Because no one knows we’re here!

(ALL hold triumphant poses as CHORUS continues.)
